Hi everyone, need some help with a ford ranger we have in the garage at the moment. It came in for bodywork (running + driving) its been here for a while.
Last week the ranger battery had died. We tried to boost it and it tried sluggishly so naturally presumed the booster pack was abit down so we went and got our bigger booster. When tried to boost this time we had a no crank situation with a message on the dash stating ' adblue service required to start engine'.
When scanned we had the code P21CB-00 - reductant control module supply voltage low.
We charge the battery and clear codes. Code clears and stays gone, still no crank with same message on dash. Did adblue parameter reset via Ford IDS, also filled up ad-blue just to be 100% all basis are covered, then we did the refill procedure with Ford IDS. ( both the refill + the parameter reset procedure were ' successful' ). Still no crank no start with same message on the dash. Tried these two procedures with autel - still no luck.
Although the code has gone since charged battery i tested wiring inc lives, earths, relay and fuses to reductant control module. All ok. At this point not sure where to go with it. Im thinking the reset procedure didn't work? or there is another reset that needs doing. im not sure.
it runs with the starter relay removed and bridged. just wont start on the key due to this error message on dash. Tried disconnecting battery over night, tried leaving key in ignition with charger on encase it needed to reset that way, All dead ends nothing is working. Like mentioned above no codes present, just the ad-blue service to start error on the dash.
If anyone has any ideas would be appreciated, not sure where to turn and reluctant to do a delete but may have to at this point if no luck.
thanks
